CONVICT CRIMINOLOGY FOR THE FUTURE It has been close to two decades since the publication of Ross and Richards book Convict Criminology (2003). Although the origins of this group, school, movement or network predated this book, since then the number of individuals who identify with the goals and mission of the group has expanded. We have entered a phase that some of us are calling Convict Criminology 2.0. Part of the work so far has been the publication of seminal pieces of scholarship appearing as books, scholarly articles and chapters in peer-reviewed books. The scholarly output of individuals associated with CC has also included two special issues of the Journal for Prisoners in Prison (20XX; 2018). Other work has been papers presented at conferences and the introduction of this body of thought in classrooms. This is buttressed by activities by individuals who are mentoring convicts behind bars, those who are about to be released and those who are back in our communities. Much has been accomplished. In order to do a stockkeeping and projection towards the future, it is appropriate to periodically ask where have we been and where are we going. Our intention is not so much to review everything we have accomplished, but to lay down a foundation of what the future might hold. In order to facilitate this effort this is a conference on their premises.
</oembed>
