She’s a PhD candidate in geography with a designated emphasis in science and technology studies at the University of California, Berkeley. Her dissertation, “‘There Are No Black Italians’? Race and Citizenship in the Black Mediterranean,” explores the cultural politics of Blackness among young Afro-Italians. Broadly, her work intersects with diaspora and race-critical theory, postcolonial STS, and Black European studies. Camilla is also project manager of the Summer School on Black Europe in Amsterdam
